Galaxy S Series

The Samsung Galaxy S I9000 is Samsung's first entry into its Galaxy S series of Android smartphones. The Galaxy S features a 480x800 Super AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5 MP rear camera, a 0.3 MP VGA front-facing camera, and a 1 GHz processor. It ships with Android 2.1 Eclair and can be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Galaxy S is just 9.9 mm in thickness, which made it the thinnest smartphone on the market when it was released.

The Galaxy S II is Samsung's successor to the bestselling Galaxy S smart phone. With features such as being ultra-thin, a high quality rear camera, and HSPA+ Radio, the Galaxy S II was a hit with consumers.

The Galaxy S III is the successor to Samsung's best-selling Galaxy S II. It has a bigger, 4.8" 720p display. This variant has a dual-core Qualcomm processor and supports 4G LTE. It packs NFC, wireless charging capability, and the latest wireless radios. It ships with Samsung's Nature UX interface, which is the latest version of TouchWiz to date. It's available in 16 and 32GB configurations. It's also available in pebble blu or marble white.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 VE is a 5" phone with a 1080x1920p display. The Snapdragon 600 is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. The main camera is 13MP and the selfie camera is 2MP. The battery has a 2600mAh capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is the younger sibling of the Galaxy S4. It runs on a 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon processor, with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (16GB in some regions). The 4.3" Super AMOLED display has a resolution of 540x960. The S4 Mini runs on Samsung Touchwiz and comes with the standard suite of Samsung apps.

The Galaxy S4 usa is Samsung's flagship device for 2013. The S 4 improves on its predecessor thanks to a 5" 1080p Super AMOLED display (PenTile 441 ppi), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, LTE connectivity, and a 2600 mAh battery. Other additional features include floating touch and a 13 MP camera featuring an updated interface. All this is encased in 7.9 mm of Samsung's well known Hyperglaze plastic finish.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is a merge between a Samsung galaxy S 4 Mini and a Samsung Galaxy Camera. It has a 16MP camera with 10x optical zoom and a number of smart modes to help capture those perfect shots. On the phone side of it, a dual core 1.5GHz powers the device along with 1.5GB RAM. Internal storage weighs in at 8Gb which can be expanded up to 64GB with a micro-SD card.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is a smartphone similar in specifications and features to the Galaxy S 4, but with additional waterproofing and dust-proofing to bring it in line with IP67 specifications. The S 4 Active also features a more overall rugged design, being targeted towards the outdoor, active user. The S 4 Active has a Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.9GHz processor and 2GB RAM. The 5" 1080p display is a TFT LCD display, in place of the S 4 Super AMOLED display. The camera has also been changed, and is a lower 8MP compared to the S 4 13MP.

The Galaxy S 4 is Samsung's flagship device for 2013. The S 4 ups the ante of its predecessor thanks to a 5" 1080p Super AMOLED display (PenTile 441 ppi), a pseudo octa-core Samsung Exynos 5410 or quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 (depending on region), 2 gigs of RAM, up to 64 gigs of storage, LTE connectivity, and a 2600 mAh battery. Furthermore, the device features additional features such as floating touch and a 13 MP shooter featuring a revamped camera interface. All this brute force is encased in 7.9 mm of Samsung's well known Hyperglaze plastic finish.

The Samsung Galaxy S 5 is the successor to the popular Galaxy S 4. The 5.1" Super AMOLED display has a resolution of 1080x1920. The Galaxy S 5 is powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB RAM. Internal storage comes in at either 16GB or 32GB, with a microSD slot up to 128GB. The 16MP camera is capable of 4K video recording and real time HDR photos. Along side the camera flash is a heart rate sensor, which can be used with Samsung's S Health software. The S 5 has a 2800mAh battery providing power.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo is a 5.1" phone with a screen resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The Exynos 7580 Octa chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The main camera has a 16MP sensor and the selfie camera is 5MP. The battery has a 2800mAh capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy S 5 Mini was announced by the South Korean manufacturer in July 2014. It is a cut down version of the flagship Galaxy S 5. The S 5 Mini has a 4.5" Super AMOLED 720 display, quad-core 1.4GHz processor and 1.5GB of RAM. The camera is around half that of the Galaxy S 5, coming in at 8MP. Internal storage is available in 16GB or 32GB and can be increased with a microSD card. The S 5 Mini, like the S 5, is dust and water resistant, has a fingerprint scanner and also has a heart rate monitor. The device is powered by a 2100mAh battery.

The Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 5 is the follow on device from the popular Galaxy S 4. The display is a 5.1" Super AMOLED, with a resolution of 1080x1920. The Galaxy S 5 is powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB RAM. Internal storage comes in at either 16GB or 32GB, with a microSD slot capable of up to 128GB. The Samsung Galaxy S6 was announced at MWC 2015 on March 1st. It's powered by a 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 processor and 3GB of RAM. Internal storage comes in at 32GB, 64GB or 128GB, with no microSD slot available. The 5.1" display features a Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The rear shooter has a 16MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, featuring Optical Image Stabilization, and 2160p video recording at 30fps. The front camera has a 4MP sensor with 1080p video recording. All this is powered by a non-removable 2550mAh battery. On the exterior, the Galaxy S6 features a unibody metal frame with curved bezel, and glass backing, with a fingerprint sensor built into the home button.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was announced on March 1, 2015. It is the immediate successor to the Galaxy S5, alongside the Galaxy S6. Its standout feature is the sloping edges of the display which wrap around the sides of the device. The S6 Edge has a 5.1" 1440 x 2560 Super AMOLED display. It's powered by a 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 processor and 3GB of RAM. With no expandable storage slot, it comes with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Other features include a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization and 2160p video recording at 30fps. All this is backed by a non-removable 2600mAh battery, which features fast-charging technology. On the outside, the Galaxy S6 Edge has a metal frame and glass backing, similar to that of the Galaxy S6.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is an enlarged update on the early 2015 Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The S6 Edge+ is pushing into phablet territory with its 5.7" screen. The SuperAMOLED display has a quad-HD resolution (1440 x 256) and a pixel density of 518 pixels per inch. It's powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Exynos processor and a large 4GB of RAM. It comes with either 32GB or 64G of internal storage, but lacks a microSD slot. The rear shooter has a 16MP sensor with OIS and 4K video recording. The front camera features a 5MP sensor and is capable of 2K video recording. The S6 Edge+ runs on a non-removable 3000mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 was released at Mobile World Congress in February 2016. It features a 5.1" Quad HD Super AMOLED display, with an "always on" function, used to display a clock and notifications. Under the hood, the Galaxy S7 is powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, and either the Adreno 530 Mali-T880 MP12 GPU (both dependent on region). It comes with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, with up to a further 200GB available with microSD card. The rear shooter has a 12MP sensor, with f/1.7 aperture and phase detection autofocus, and produces 4:3 ratio photos. It also features a dual-pixel system, which allows every pixel to act as a focus pixel, similar to the system used in some DSLR cameras. On the front camera is a 5MP sensor, also with an f/1.7 aperture, and auto HDR. The Galaxy S7 runs on a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 and wireless charging. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, heart rate monitor, Samsung Pay, and Gorilla Glass 4 both front and back. The device is IP68 certified for dust proof and water resistance over 1.5m and 30 minutes.

The Galaxy S8 from Samsung comes in two flavors this year. You can choose between the classic S8 or the S8+. The standard S8 comes with a 5.8" screen with 1440 x 2960 pixels. The Snapdragon 835 chipset has an octa-core (4x2.45 GHz Kryo & 4x1.9 GHz Kryo) CPU and an Adreno 540 GPU. You'll have options for either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. The primary camera has a 12MP sensor and the selfie camera is 8MP. The 3000mAh battery comes with quick charging and wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 launched at the 2018 WMC where Samsung announced the new game-changing features like the revolutionary camera. The S9 is a 5.8" phone with a 1440 x 2960 pixel display. The snapdragon 845 is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB storage options. The main camera is 12MP with an adjustable aperture of f/1.5-2.4. The selfie camera is 8MP. The battery capacity is 3000mAh.

Samsung's flagship for 2019, the Galaxy S10, is a 6.1" device, with a curved edge display, and a resolution of 1440x3040. It's powered by either the Exynos 9820 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 512GB of storage. The main camera is comprised of a 12MP wide angle lens, 12MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP ultrawide angle lens, while the selfie camera is a 10MP wide angle lens. The Galaxy S10 runs on a 3400mAh battery, features Wireless Powershare, and comes with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, located below the display.

Samsung Galaxy S20 is a 6.2" phone with a 3200×1440p resolution display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865/Exynos 990 chipset is paired with 12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. The main camera is 12+12+64MP and the selfie camera is 10MP. The battery has a 4000mAh capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 is a 6.2" phone with a 1080x2400p resolution 120hz display. The Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888/Exynos 2100 chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. The main camera is 12+12+64MP and the selfie camera is 10MP. The Battery has a 4,000 mAh capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is a 6.1" phone with a 2340x1080 resolution display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Samsung Exynos 2200 chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. The main camera is 50+12+10MP and the selfie camera is 10MP. The battery has a 3700mAh capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is a 6.1" smartphone, with a 1080x2340 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. it's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, along with either 128/8GB, 256/8GB or 512/8GB internal storage and RAM. There a 50/10/12MP main shooter setup, along with a 12MP selfie camera up front. The Galaxy S23 runs on a 3900mAh battery, with 25W wired charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with a 6.2" 1080x2340 LTPO AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (or Exynos 2400) chipset, along with either 128/8GB, 256/8GB, 256/12GB, or 512/8GB of internal storage and RAM. There's a 50/10/12MP main camera setup, with 8k video recording, and a 12MP selfie camera. This all runs on a 4000mAh battery, with 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
